A complete transfer tool modification became necessary due to a stamped component that did not meet OEM quality requirements, under a compressed timeline driven by the upcoming SOP milestone.
The project focused on identifying and correcting tool geometry issues responsible for surface waviness on the stamped component within the BMW NA5 program.
Scope of Work:
– Complete tool disassembly and technical condition assessment
– Manufacturing of tool components according to revised OEM requirements
– Tool rebuilding and tryout activities
– On-site fine-tuning and production optimization until stable serial production was achieved
Result:
As a result of the implemented modifications, the tool achieved OEM-compliant quality standards and was ready for serial production by the SOP deadline.
